LaDonna Humphrey of Arkansas – Introduction

LaDonna Humphrey is a versatile talent, excelling in writing, podcasting, documentary filmmaking, investigative journalism, and advocacy for victims of crime. Her commitment extends to causes close to her heart, such as supporting missing adults, crime victims, foster children, and women in recovery.

Her debut book, “The Girl I Never Knew,” earned her a nomination for Best New True Crime Author at the 2023 True Crime Awards. Additionally, her podcast “Deep Dark Secrets,” co-hosted with Alecia Lockhart, received a nomination for Best Indie Podcast of the year.

As the Executive Director of Oasis of Northwest Arkansas and co-founder of All the Lost Girls, LaDonna is deeply involved in her community. Together with her husband Danny, she raises their seven children in Northwest Arkansas, effectively balancing her professional achievements with family life.

My fascination with true crime isn't merely academic; it's deeply personal. Delving into history and psychology, I've been drawn to the stories lurking in the shadows, driven to give voice to those silenced by violence and injustice.

From the serene towns of the Ozark Mountains to the bustling streets of Little Rock, I've chronicled numerous chilling tales. Through meticulously researched books and articles, I've illuminated the hidden truths of Arkansas society, exposing its darkest secrets.

One of my most significant undertakings has been investigating the unsolved murder of Melissa Witt, peeling back layers of murder, betrayal, and redemption that have left an indelible mark on Arkansas.

In a world often dominated by sensationalism, I remain dedicated to honoring victims' memories and shedding light on the complexities of crime and punishment.

Beyond my writing, I tirelessly advocate for victims' rights and criminal justice reform. Through speaking engagements, community outreach, and collaborations with law enforcement, I strive to ensure that the voices of the voiceless are heard and justice is served.

A sober living community for women in Northwest Arkansas is getting a new space to help more people. It looks like a work in progress, but Oasis of Northwest Arkansas sees limitless potential for this space. “Really our idea is that you walk in through the door and everything that you need is right here and you don’t have to try and catch a ride. Most of these women don’t have transportation,” executive director LaDonna Humphrey said.  As of now, Oasis works completely out of its sober living homes for women. For the first time, it will have its own office space in this spot in Rogers. “The demand for services at Oasis of Northwest Arkansas is at an all-time high.
